Major Appliance Recycling Roundtable:

The Major Appliances Recycling Roundtable (MARR) is a not-for-profit stewardship agency created to implement and operate a stewardship plan for end-of-life major household appliances in the province of British Columbia (BC) on behalf of the major appliance "producers" who are obligated under the BC Recycling Regulation. The MARR plan is focused on enhancing the performance and transparency of the existing market-based system of collecting and recycling major household appliances in BC.

Why Should I Use a MARR Collection Site?

Large appliances contain recoverable metals and getting them back into the supply chain reduces the need for new raw materials. Also, many large appliances contain refrigerants: a group of chemicals that collectively are called ozone-depleting substances. By responsibly recycling your large appliances, you ensure that any ozone-depleting substances will be handled and disposed of carefully by licensed professionals.

There are certified drop-off sites that accept major appliances all across BC. There is no charge when you drop off your appliance at a MARR collection site and you can rest assured knowing your large appliances will be recycled responsibly
